GB Tecnología S.A. was founded in March 1997, in San José, Costa Rica, as a technology-based company with the expertise to provide customers innovative and effective solutions in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA), automated electric grids and low, medium and high-voltage substations, along with the installation of telemetry, telecommunications and telecontrol systems associated with those systems.
Historically, GB Tecnología S.A. has also focused on meeting the needs of power distribution companies in Costa Rica and other areas of Central America, the Caribbean and South America.
We participate actively in tender processes, either under our own name or representing U.S. or European companies.
Along with traditional areas, our current infrastructure enables us to focus on system design and deployment of SCADA/Telemetry, AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) based on RF Mesh and PLC (Power Line Carrier), substation protection, data networks, and turnkey projects anywhere in the world.
Value-added services also include:
- Voltage verification and rectification, and suitable protection for the equipment to be installed
- Equipment grounding
- Protection against line transients
- Communication towers and poles
- Sale of associated equipment (cables, antennas, power source, connectors, etc.)
- Communication cabinets with complete protection and measurement, power supply, battery backup and automatic ventilation. We have special signal monitoring, control and tracking equipment for this purpose.
- Together with our customers, we define the specifications for the equipment to be installed and studies and advisory services required for system start-up.
GB Tecnología S.A. represents more than 30 manufacturers of measurement and testing equipment for transformers, communications, telemetry, SCADA, residential and industrial measurement, AMI-PLC systems and RF Mesh.
We provide maintenance service and training for the systems our company sells and installs, providing customers solid pre- and post-sale support.
Because each member of our technical team specializes in a particular field, working as a team we can quickly determine the best alternatives for each project.
Currently, our offices and the Electronic and Telemetry Laboratory are housed in facilities located outside San José, Costa Rica.
